【摘要】:ThistestmethodcoversthedetectionandenumerationofviableandculturablerapidlygrowingMycobacteria(RGM),ornon-tuberculosisMycobacteria(NTM)inaqueousmetalworkingfluids(MWF)inthepresenceofhighnon-mycobacterialbackgroundpopulationusingstandardmicrobiologicalculturemethods.Thedetectionlimitisonecolonyformingunit(CFU)/mLmetalworkingfluid.ThistestmethodinvolvescultureoforganismsclassifiedasLevel2pathogens,andshouldbeundertakenbyatrainedmicrobiologistinanappropriatelyequippedfacility.ThemicrobiologistshouldalsobecapableofdistinguishingthediversecoloniesofMycobacteriafromothermicroorganismcoloniesonaPetridishandcapableofconfirmingMycobacteriabyacidfaststainingmethodThisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
